The major factor which causes over stressful life is the modern lifestyle that we nowadays live in. When any individual is completely stressed out then he or she may suffer from negative impact of stress which gets displayed in the form of psychological disorders such as anxiety attacks.
Some people who have these disorders would have frightening experiences that makes them want know about coping with panic attacks. Experiencing the physical symptoms of panic attacks can also cause further anxiety which aggravates the condition.
The best solution for coping with panic attacks is to identify the sources of stress and try to minimize or completely eliminate them if possible. However, do keep in mind that it is not always possible to minimize or eliminate stress. There will always be some instances in which the situation is out of your control and you have to deal it with. Thus, coping with panic attacks would also require you to be able to develop healthy adaptive mechanisms to face stress.
Usually, those who are suffering from panic attacks would experience shortness of breath or difficulty of breathing. Along with that, rapid heart rate, dizziness, or even some chest pains will also be experienced by the person who has poor coping with panic attacks.
For you to have good coping with panic attacks, developing the adaptive mechanisms would be necessary. However, for you to develop the adaptive mechanisms, you need to determine the exact cause of the panic attacks.
Finding the exact cause of the attack may not be that easy that is why identifying the possible causes of the panic disorder is included in the therapies for treating such disorder. Psychotherapy is the main treatment for panic and anxiety disorders.
There may also be some medical treatments but it is not used as a long term treatment. The most common treatment preferred are those that do not require medications, but rather behavioral approaches.
Counseling is also a good way to overcome your panic disorder. Through counseling, the patient is able to disclose his/her feelings or insights and the counselor will be able to get the picture of the patient’s condition.
Another way to help in solving the disorder is through various relaxation techniques. These relaxation techniques are perfect for those whose stressors are unavoidable. This means, the cause of their anxiety attacks are already part of their lives.
Panic attacks, if left untreated can become serious and can completely compromise the person’s quality of life.
